Another very successful edition of the Pira Packaging Summit
We would like to thank all everyone for their participation at the Pira Packaging Summit 2013, and for helping us to deliver another special edition of the conference, which was filled with expert presentations and interactive discussions between raw material suppliers, packaging companies, brand owners and retailers, representing the entire value chain.
Highlights from the event ranged from sustainability insights from IKEA and P&G, to the inspiring story of Cola Life from Pi Global. Not forgetting Alistair Vince's (WatchMeThink) insightful and light-hearted presentation on how consumers can both be passionate about and frustrated by packaging. Additionally, Eef de Ferrante (AIPIA) took a deep dive into the future potential of active and intelligent packaging, and his passion for the opportunities in this area gave delegates much food for thought.

Adam Page, who was chairing the session on the technology of the future, led a lively debate on the unmet needs of brand owners and retailers, and how any new innovations must match up with consumers' needs and requirements.
Adam said: "There are many new exciting technologies emerging, and the event offered a unique forum to provide a hard, realistic look at what's going to work, and what's likely to fail"
